How to Make Money Trading Forex Online (WORK AT HOME)

In the forex market, you buy or sell currencies.
Placing a trade in the foreign exchange market is simple: the mechanics of a trade are very similar to those found in other markets (like the stock market), so if you have any experience in trading, you should be able to pick it up pretty quickly.
The object of forex trading is to exchange one currency for another in the expectation that the price will change, so that the currency you bought will increase in value compared to the one you sold.
Example:
Trader’s ActionEURUSD
You purchase 10,000 euros at the EUR/USD exchange rate of1.1800+10,000-11,800*
Two weeks later, you exchange your 10,000 euros back into U.S. dollar at the exchange rate of 1.2500-10,000+12,500**
You earn a profit of $7000+700
*EUR 10,000 x 1.18 = US $11,800
** EUR 10,000 x 1.25 = US $12,500

An exchange rate is simply the ratio of one currency valued against another currency. For example, the USD/CHF exchange rate indicates how many U.S. dollars can purchase one Swiss franc, or how many Swiss francs you need to buy one U.S. dollar.

How to Read a Forex Quote

Currencies are always quoted in pairs, such as GBP/USD or USD/JPY. The reason they are quoted in pairs is because in every foreign exchange transaction, you are simultaneously buying one currency and selling another. Here is an example of a foreign exchange rate for the British pound versus the U.S. dollar:
GBP/USD forex quote
The first listed currency to the left of the slash (“/”) is known as the base currency (in this example, the British pound), while the second one on the right is called the counter or quote currency (in this example, the U.S. dollar).
When buying, the exchange rate tells you how much you have to pay in units of the quote currency to buy one unit of the base currency. In the example above, you have to pay 1.51258 U.S. dollars to buy 1 British pound.
When selling, the exchange rate tells you how many units of the quote currency you get for selling one unit of the base currency. In the example above, you will receive 1.51258 U.S. dollars when you sell 1 British pound.
The base currency is the “basis” for the buy or the sell. If you buy EUR/USD this simply means that you are buying the base currency and simultaneously selling the quote currency. In caveman talk, “buy EUR, sell USD.”
You would buy the pair if you believe the base currency will appreciate (gain value) relative to the quote currency. You would sell the pair if you think the base currency will depreciate (lose value) relative to the quote currency.

Long/Short

First, you should determine whether you want to buy or sell.
If you want to buy (which actually means buy the base currency and sell the quote currency), you want the base currency to rise in value and then you would sell it back at a higher price. In trader’s talk, this is called “going long” or taking a “long position.” Just remember: long = buy.
If you want to sell (which actually means sell the base currency and buy the quote currency), you want the base currency to fall in value and then you would buy it back at a lower price. This is called “going short” or taking a “short position”. Just remember: short = sell.
How to make money trading forex by going long and short at the same time.
“I’m long AND short.”

Bid/Ask

EUR/USD forex quote
“How come I keep getting quoted with two prices?”
All forex quotes are quoted with two prices: the bid and ask. For the most part, the bid is lower than the ask price.
The bid is the price at which your broker is willing to buy the base currency in exchange for the quote currency. This means the bid is the best available price at which you (the trader) will sell to the market.
The ask is the price at which your broker will sell the base currency in exchange for the quote currency. This means the ask price is the best available price at which you will buy from the market. Another word for ask is the offer price.

The difference between the bid and the ask price is popularly known as the spread.
On the EUR/USD quote above, the bid price is 1.34568 and the ask price is 1.34588. Look at how this broker makes it so easy for you to trade away your money.
If you want to sell EUR, you click “Sell” and you will sell euros at 1.34568. If you want to buy EUR, you click “Buy” and you will buy euros at 1.34588.
Now let’s take a look at some samples.

Demo Trade Your Way to Success

You can open a demo accounts for FREE with most forex brokers. These “pretend” accounts have the full capabilities of a “real” account.
But why is it free?
It’s because the broker wants you to learn the ins and outs of their trading platform, and have a good time trading without risk, so you’ll fall in love with them and deposit real money. The demo account allows you to learn about the forex market and test your trading skills with ZERO risk.
Yes, that’s right, ZERO!

YOU SHOULD DEMO TRADE UNTIL YOU DEVELOP A SOLID, PROFITABLE SYSTEM BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT PUTTING REAL MONEY ON THE LINE.
WE REPEAT – YOU SHOULD DEMO TRADE UNTIL YOU DEVELOP A SOLID, PROFITABLE SYSTEM BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT PUTTING REAL MONEY ON THE LINE.

Standard Chartered Q1 profit down 22%

Profit before tax for the three months ended Mar 31 fell 22 per cent to US$1.47 billion from US$1.88 billion in the same period last year, the bank said in a filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange.

HONG KONG: Asia-focused British bank Standard Chartered said on Tuesday (Apr 28) its first-quarter profit fell more than 20 per cent year-on-year, missing analysts' expectations.
Profit before tax for the three months ended Mar 31 fell 22 per cent to US$1.47 billion from US$1.88 billion in the same period last year, the bank said in a filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange.
The figure was below the average estimate of US$1.6 billion predicted by four analysts polled by Bloomberg News.
"Trading conditions remain challenging and the actions we are taking to de-risk, cut costs and build capital are having an impact on near-term performance," group chief executive Peter Sands said in the filing.
Sands said the bank's underlying business volumes "generally remain strong".
Loan impairment increased 80 per cent to US$476 million from US$265 million last year, while operating income for the period fell four percent year-on-year.
Former JPMorgan investment bank head Bill Winters is to replace Sands, who had issued profit warnings in the past year that sparked shareholder calls for a boardroom cull.
Bosses at the bank announced in March that they would forgo their bonuses after 2014 profits fell by more than a third.
The British lender said profit after tax for 2014 came in at US$2.51 billion, down from US$3.99 billion in 2013. It described the result as "disappointing".
Standard Chartered said in January it would axe 2,000 jobs around the world this year as it tries to make savings of US$400 million in a structural overhaul.

China wine growers beat France into second place

China overtook France last year as the world's second largest wine grower by area under cultivation as it continued to plant vast fields of mostly imported grape vines to meet growing demand.

PARIS: China overtook France last year as the world's second largest wine grower by area under cultivation as it continued to plant vast fields of mostly imported grape vines to meet growing demand.
The world's second largest economy, which since 2013 consumes more red wine than any other country, has more than doubled the land devoted to vines since the start of the century to 799,000 hectares, the International Vine and Wine organisation OIV said on Monday.
It now accounts for 10.6 per cent of the world's wine area against 10.5 per cent for France and 13.5 per cent for world No.1 grower, Spain.
"China wants to be self-sufficient in all sectors, this one included," OIV Director General Jean-Marie Aurand told reporters. Vines are imported from all around the world and are mostly red grapes as Chinese virtually drink no white wine, he said.
They include many varieties such as Cabernet-Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Chardonnay and are essentially grown in the Ningxia, Sichuan and Hebei provinces in dry areas where there is little competition with other crops, Aurand said.
Still, China's wine production is still far behind the world's major producers, France, Italy and Spain, which all surpassed 40 million hectolitres last year while China was barely at 11 million, ranking eighth in the world.
But since vines take between four and five years to produce and planting surged about two to three years ago, China's output could jump in just a few years, Aurand said.
At a global level, wine output fell 4 per cent in 2014 to around 279 million hectolitres, OIV said.
France ranked first by production at 46.7 million hectolitres thanks to good weather while Italy and Spain, which had less favorable conditions, fell back from large volumes the previous year.
In terms of consumption, Chinese sales dipped 7 per cent, hit by a government clampdown on extravagant spending, but Aurand noted that this followed rapid growth since 2000.
The United States confirmed its place as the world No.1 wine consumer, a position it won from France in 2013. The US market grew nearly 2 per cent in volume last year to 30.7 million hectoliters, while it fell close to 3 per cent in France to 27.9 million.
Overall, global consumption was down slightly at 240 million hectolitres last year, down from 242 million recorded the three previous years, OIV said.
This provisional data would likely be revised lower to take account of Russia's embargo on Western food products and the crisis in Ukraine, Aurand said.

Online traders get new safe zone from possible harm: police stations

After responding to a Craigslist advertisement for a cheap Toyota, Fred Wallace and his wife took US$5,000 cash and drove to meet the seller at nightfall at a gated community in California.

SEATTLE: After responding to a Craigslist advertisement for a cheap Toyota, Fred Wallace and his wife took US$5,000 cash and drove to meet the seller at nightfall at a gated community in California.
Once there, two men attacked and snatched their cash, shot the couple in their late 60s with pepper spray and shoved the wife to the ground.
As alarm rises over violent crimes linked to online classified websites, police departments across the nation are urging buyers and sellers to use department lobbies and parking lots to safely meet strangers and exchange cash for goods.
Police say the 24-hour-surveilled areas, where an armed officer is just a shout away, fend off routine smack-and-grabs and possibly even murders and sexual assaults that can occur when criminals target well-meaning people using online services.
Craigslist is just one of many U.S. online classified websites where most transactions are completed without incident. But with more than 80 million classified ads each month for jobs, cars, televisions and other items, it is one of the most popular, and attracts attention when things go wrong.
According to a tally by the website Law Street, there have been 45 killings connected to Craigslist postings from 2009 through June 2014.
"We were naive," said Wallace, still an avid Craigslist user. "We remember feeling uncomfortable, but we felt the promise of buying exactly what we wanted for a good price."
Law enforcement agencies in a handful of states from New Hampshire to Colorado have pushed "safe zone" campaigns, while Seattle and Chicago have unofficial arrangements where police encourage people to meet in public places, including police station lobbies.
"Logistically, we can't sit there and have a police officer adjudicate each transaction, so it's just to provide a sense of personal safety for both parties," Chicago police department spokesman Veejay Zala said.
A bill to designate Florida facilities such as courthouses as safe havens was passed by the state Senate but has failed to be heard by a House committee and could die on Friday.
BUYER BEWARE
Violent incidents have attracted national attention. In March, a pregnant 26-year-old from Colorado went to a home after following an online advertisement for baby clothes and had her fetus cut from her womb. She survived but her baby died.
A suburban Atlanta couple were killed in January after seeking to buy a nonexistent 1966 Mustang convertible, and a Pennsylvania man was lured to his death last year after responding to an ad seeking "companionship."
Because police departments are not actively brokering transactions and some campaigns are new, police have scant data on how effective they are at crime reduction.
In Boca Raton, Florida, police in June offered the main parking lot or lobby for transactions after four Craigslist-related crimes were reported, and a spokeswoman said they had gotten no such reports since.
Craigslist did not respond to requests for comment, but the San Francisco-based service says on its site that the "overwhelming majority of Craigslist users are trustworthy and well-intentioned."
It has taken steps to promote safety for buyers and sellers, suggesting meetings in public places or at local police stations and warns against inviting strangers into one's home.
Following the murder of a 25-year-old masseuse who advertised on Craigslist in Boston, Craigslist replaced its "erotic services" ads in 2009 with a new adult category with listings screened by staff.
Users like Fred Wallace welcomed the safe zones but were skeptical about how often people use them, especially for bulky transactions.
Maggie Hatcher, a Chicago marketing consultant, said she has bought concert tickets through Craigslist but preferred to arrange a speedy exchange outside her apartment building in a busy neighborhood.
In Bremerton, Washington, Cristy Taylor, 60, said a police station would not have worked when she used Craigslist to hire a garden weeder, purchased an antique fireplace or sold her kitchen cabinets, which a stranger pried off her wall at no charge.
"I'm really unsure how these things would translate into being conducted at a police station," Taylor said.

Speaking about her latest project, Salma admitted it has been a labour of love that helped her explore her relationship with her late Lebanese grandfather, who adored Kahlil Gibran's book of which the flick is based.
The Prophet, based on the 1923 novel, follows the story of Almitra, a headstrong girl who forms a friendship with the imprisoned poet Mustafa, voiced by actor Liam Neeson.
The star was seen blowing kisses at fans who lined her route, before posing for photos and speaking to reporters.
Earlier in the day, Salma attended a press conference for the flick alongside director Roger Allers and Lebanese musician and composer Gabriel Yared.

When asked about The Prophet, Salma told The Guardian's G2 magazine: "It's not a religious book, it's poetic and philosophical.
"It's a book written by an Arabic man. Which unites all religions. That itself I think is important."

Could The Walking Dead Get A Movie? Here's What Andrew Lincoln Says

Could The Walking Dead Get A Movie? Here's What Andrew Lincoln Says image
The Walking Dead is certainly one of the more popular shows currently showing on cable, having built a huge fanbase since its debut on AMC back in 2010. But could that success be transferred to the big screen? If it were up to series star Andrew Lincoln, he would jump at the opportunity in a heartbeat.

Inquirer recently had the chance to sit down with the actor - who plays group leader and former sheriff Rick Grimes on The Walking Dead - and it was during this chat that Lincoln discussed how enthusiastic he would be to see the acclaimed zombie show get a movie to add to the continuity. Discussing the recent deal that Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman made with Universal Pictures, the interviewer pitched the actor on the idea of the series getting a feature, and Lincoln responded,
That would be amazing. It’s something we’ve been talking about and dreamt of because it would be cool to see some snow. We were all going, just not to have to film in Atlanta where it gets to 100 degrees!

Andrew Lincoln has some much bigger thoughts for a movie beyond just a change in climate, however. He sees a lot of story potential in the idea of making a Walking Dead film, and feels that the medium could be used to explore elements that can't necessarily play in the show. It would also possibly present the chance to bring back some actors who saw their tenure on the series come to a grisly end. Said the actor,
What would be amazing is that you can play with form, time and chronology and maybe also rediscover characters who are no longer in the show. Certainly, with that format, you can do something very interesting and ambitious.

Naturally, this isn't the first time that the idea of a Walking Dead film has been proposed. Back in 2012 there were some rumors about rumblings on the television show's set that suggested that a feature could possibly be in the future plans, but it's been three years and there doesn't seem to be much forward progress with that idea. Of course, it's never too late.

While it may still be some time before The Walking Dead actually gets a movie, it's worth noting that the series is definitely extending its brand. In March it was officially confirmed that AMC is moving forward with a spin-off show called Fear The Walking Dead, which is scheduled to debut on the cable channel this summer. And who knows - maybe a movie event can be set up in the future that will see the cast of The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead meet up to go on a very special zombie killing mission.

Rush Hour And Face Off Come Together In Ridiculous Spoof Starring P. Diddy

Have you ever imagined a mishmash of Rush Hour and Face/Off that is held together by the cinematic glue that is P. Diddy? I’m going to guess no. But that hasn’t stopped the good people over at Funny Or Die from creating a film that combines that devilish trifecta. And it makes for one of the most confusing fake trailers of all time.

The filmmakers behind this Funny Or Die video do an good job with this, and it’s enjoyable that it can be seen as riffing on the recent rumors that the Jump Streetand Men In Black franchises could be merging. Rush Hour 4/Face/Off 2 has a good number of one-liners and sight gags in there – especially the confusion over exactly why their faces need to be taken off and the doctors watching Face/Off before surgery - which make it worth your while. It is slightly unfortunate that it descends into slew of stereotypical racial jokes though, but I guess that’s just the Rush Hourfranchise.. Meanwhile there’s also no denying the fact that it’s also really, really odd. And you really can’t help but be a little bit flabbergasted by what you’ve seen by its conclusion. Still there are worse ways to spend three minutes of your day.

For the uninitiated, 1998’s Rush Hour starred Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan as Detective James Carter and Detective Inspector Lee respectively, and it blended the marital-arts of Chan’s exploits in Eastern movies with Tucker’s fast-talking gags from his American comedies. Meanwhile, Face/Off is John Woo at his twisted and relentless best, and the film is punctuated with fine performances from its dual leads of John Travolta and Nicholas Cage. Released in 1997, it was instantly met with praise because of its hype-violent but poetically stylized action scenes and its intriguing premise. It’s even since developed into a cult classic because of just how beautifully high concept it is.

But should the two movies ever be combined into one super franchise blockbuster that stars none of the original actors and simply plays up the themes from the two series? As entertaining as this Funny or Die video is, I think we can agree that it would be a pretty nonsensical idea.
